Big Carp in Urban Creek California FishingApr 30, 2012
I had a pretty solid day of fishing at this urban creek in southern California. Landed four largemouth bass and one 21 inch common carp. The fish may not seem like much to get excited about, but these were caught in a high-density residential area, in one of the most heavily populated regions of California. Just finding any fish alive and eager to bite in such a heavily pressured urban creek was fun. This was my 6 yr old daughter Aspen's 3rd trip on the ocean with dad. While dad was busy with a fish on, Aspen hooks up with a White Seabass (WSB) that was about all she could hold on to. At one point, the fish pulled her off her seat and onto the floor, but Aspen held on to the fishing rod. This finally alerted dad that she did indeed have a fish on! After helping to clear the deck and lines, Aspen proceded to reel in her first ever White Seabass! It was 26 lbs! Dad and Aspen then brought in Dad's 46 lb WSB and then shortly after that double, they used teamwork to bring in a third WSB that went 39 lbs. What a day! Dad is very proud. Sept. 10th, 2011
